EMDR is an evidence based, trauma informed therapy intervention that helps clients to heal from the symptoms of trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This structured intervention helps to reduce the vividness and emotional distress associated with trauma memories by using bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements or tapping) while the client briefly focuses on part of the trauma memory. EMDR is also a helpful intervention to treat symptoms of anxiety, depression, addiction, chronic pain and other distressing life events.
