Experience

Having earned a Bachelor of Education in 2006, April’s previous experience is a blend of education, human services, and career development. Since transitioning out of the traditional classroom to become a Career Coach, April has supported those from a wide variety of backgrounds and life circumstances in identifying personal and professional goals, as well as creating personalized action plans. She has worked extensively with those facing homelessness, individuals who are justice involved, new Canadians and post-secondary students. April loves watching and supporting her clients to overcome barriers and reach their fullest potential.

April’s experience as a Career Coach has prepared her well to be a Clinical Intern, though she is excited to apply her skills in more personal and holistic manner. Her approach is client-centred and trauma informed, drawing on several therapeutic approaches including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Existential Therapy, etc. She strongly believes that each person comes with their own set of life experiences, values, and ways of being. By meeting clients where they are at, and embracing the fact that they are truly the experts in their lives, she aims to foster self-empowerment through therapy in children (10+), youth, adults, seniors, and couples.

About

In her free time, April can typically be found seeking out new experiences with her children, devouring a good book, or snuggling with her cats. Although a former globe trotter, she has developed an appreciation for more local exploration in recent years. Hiking, biking, and camping all rank high on her list of favourite activities.

Natalie is fantastic! She listens to what I need and has great pressure for deep tissue in those stubborn spots. She keeps the conversation light and takes her cues from me when I’m needing the quiet.

I had a 90 minute prenatal massage with Natalie and it was amazing! She was so sweet and tailored it specifically to my requests. The table set up is awesome too as you actually get to lie on your stomach! Natalie has such a smooth flow to her technique and I will definitely go back.

My partner and I booked a couples massage and I could not be more appreciative! They treated us with such kindness and professionalism, and seemed to be very knowledgeable. We discussed preferences of pressure and location in depth before beginning and they were both able to offer great suggestions for us! They also checked in with us making sure we were comfortable at various times throughout the session, which I really appreciated! We walked out feeling so refreshed and relax, I had even dozed off during the massage! As an added bonus we got a sweet dark chocolate treat at the end of the session, which I loved! This team truly put a lot of care and effort into making their space as serene and peaceful as it is. Thank you for crafting such a wonderful team, and creating such a positive experience for your clients! Highly recommend & will be booking again!!
